Point Lobos State Reserve

Point Lobos is a jewel. Located between our campsite and Carmel, its geologic composition is interesting. It looks looks like poured concrete with well-worn, rounded stones mixed in. Over time, large chunks have calved from the hillside and at the same time been massaged by the sea. Point Lobos shares this ruddy landscape with sea lions and sea otters. We ate our lunch in this cove as we watched the lay abouts soak up the sun.
